As you can see that there are many ports like SD card, USB
power port, Ethernet for WiFi, USB to connect with Computer LCD, Audio and
video plug and etc.
SD Card
port
In SD card port we can insert memory card or SD card because
there is no hard disk for storage.
In SD card we can install an operating system and use it.
It must be of class of 10 and minimum 8 GB.
Network
In network port we can insert an
Ethernet cable to get internet services.
There is also a Bluetooth
and WiFi connector.
Camera
There is also a camera port but there is
no inbuilt camera that is why we have to insert external camera for security
and many other.
We can use it as PIR Sensor or CCTV camera.
PIR Sensor
HDMI (Output)
It gives the final output.
As we connect the CPU with our desktop
exactly here we have to use HDMI cable to connect the Raspberry pi and the
display for output.
If you have LED or LCD then you can use
this HDMI cable .If there is a HDMI port in your desktop
already then you can also use it.
If the desktop has only VGA(VideoGraphic Array) port then this type of
connector can be used.
In this type of cable
you have to use a VGA cable to connect this and the desktop.
Power
For giving power to the
circuit you can use the simple mobile
charger but not high voltage charger.
We can also connect it with
our laptop.
- In USB ports we can connect our keyboard and mouse.
History
This ultra-tiny computer was designed to be small and cheap
so that
schools could easily afford them in order to teach students about
computers in the classroom.
The main goal was to release computers around $30 This should
help schools to teach computing and allow students to be interested by jobs in
this field of activity. The foundation introduces Scratch as a first programming
language for kids.
Applications
Web server
Because it uses very little power, the Pi can stay on
24/7 without requiring a cooling fan or jacking up your
electric bill. It's also more than fast enough to serve web
pages, either over the internet or just within your local network.
Laptop
Believe it or not, you can build a laptop that uses a
Raspberry Pi as the brain. Available for $285, the pi-top is
a bright-green notebook with a 14-inch, 1080px screen and up to 8 hours of
battery life. It uses a Raspberry Pi 3B or 3B+ for all of its processing and
comes with pi-top OS, a version of Linux that has lots of educational
software built in to help kids learn about programming.
Kid’s first
computer
One of our favorite children's gadgets, the Kano Computer Kit, comes with all the materials that kids
as young as 6 can use to build their own Raspberry Pi-powered PC.
Robot Car
Several awesome kits let you make a robotic vehicle with a
Raspberry Pi as the brain. Sun Founder's $119 Raspberry Pi Smart Robot Kit gives
you all the parts you need (except the Pi) to build a four-wheel car with
distance sensors, light sensors and motors. Available for $109, the smaller
GoPiGo3 has three wheels and a distance sensor.
Portable (small) PC
Sometimes it is complex to carry a laptop or a PC due to their large size.
So, here is a small and good PC made by Raspberry pi in small size which is able to do all your work.
Some others applications :-
- Home
Theatre PC
- WiFi
extender
- Alexa
speaker
- Security
Camera
- Automatic
Plant Waterer
- In IOT
- Robot
